Vandercook Lake Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 14th in order to honor the numerous requests by staff to attend Mr. Phil Garrison's funeral. Phil was a lifetime Jayhawk and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the entire Jayhawk Nation.

Today for science we began a new unit called Material Magic! The students explored materials associated with clothing and what properties they were made of! in the end, they designed a hat to protect them from the sun! So much fun!!!

Hot Chocolate Day at Townsend was very successful! The Student Council did an amazing job distributing the hot chocolate. Thank you to all who donated. We raised $332.80 for families in our community! It is great to be a Jayhawk!

Townsend parents, there was a smoke problem with a building heater, however there was no reported fire and all children are safe. We appreciate all of the cooperation and patience our Jayhawk families have given us as we are taking care of this situation. We are not evacuating.
